With the season drawing to a close, our U14s showed plenty of commitment and resilience in Lucerne against quality opposition – drawing two matches and winning the third.

The first game against Zug was a remarkable backs-to-the-wall defensive effort, fending off wave after wave of attacks to shut our opponents out. Following that 0-0 draw (a rarity), the team was able to show off some of their own attacking prowess.

A close-fought game against Zurich was evenly matched throughout and ended with a creditable 1-1 draw.

The team was able to let rip in the final game against a combined Bern/Basel side, in which we ran out comfortable winners by five tries scored to one conceded.

The stifling heat then gave way to a spectacular summer storm on the train back home. Roll on next weekend when Winterthur hosts the next U14 tournament.
